April / May 2017 Fishing Report

On warm overcast days good hatches of insects have taken place with plenty of trout surface feeding.
In these conditions floating lines fished with buzzers and dry flies have been most successful.

In unfavourable conditions trout have been deeper with intermediate and sinking lines being most effective fished with weighted nymphs and mini lures.

The largest five fish bag was taken by Dave Richardson, of North Hill, who landed five rainbows for 14lb fishing a Cat's Whisker.
On a separate visit Dave landed the largest rainbow at 6lb and a trout of 2lb 14oz fishing a Blue Flash Damsel Nymph.
Other good trout were taken by Graham Johns, of St. Dennis, who landed a good 4lb 3oz fish on a Blue Flash Damsel, Dave Richardson, who landed a 3lb 11oz rainbow on a Cat's Whisker and Chris Short, of Ilminster, who landed a 3lb 4oz fish on a Blue Flash Damsel.
