April 2023 Fishing Report

On the cooler damp days trout have been less active and in these conditions sinking and intermediate lines fished with mini lures,  boobies and weighted nymphs have been most productive.

On the warmer days prolific hatches of buzzers have had good numbers of trout surface feeding. In these warmer conditions floating lines fished with buzzers, nymphs and dries are most effective.

Visiting anglers Peter and Paul between them caught seven trout the largest weighing in at 7lb 6oz. The bag was taken on a Hothead Cat.

Mr Husband, of St Austell, landed eight rainbows for 18lb 2oz on buzzers and the largest rainbow weighed 4lb 2oz.

Mr Elphick, of Lostwithiel,  landed seven rainbows for 14lb on a white booby.

Mrs Harris, of Penryn, landed a ten fish bag for 19lb 2oz on a Hothead Damsel Nymph.

Mr Snell, of Plymouth,  landed three fish for 8lb and the largest rainbow was 5lb. The bag was taken on a Blue Flash Damsel Nymph.
