May / June 2022 Fishing Report

Great top of the water sport has been had with plenty of trout surface feeding on the abundance of hatching insects.
In these conditions fishing a floating line with dry flies, buzzers or small nymphs being most successful.

Mr Coad, of Bude, landed the largest rainbow at 4 lb and took a second rainbow for a brace of 5 lb 12 oz on a dry Hawthorn.
Mr Dexter, of Liskeard, landed six rainbows for 11 lb fishing a Blue Flash Damsel Nymph.
Mr White, of Liskeard, landed a five fish bag for 10 lb fishing a Damsel Nymph. 

June / July 2022 Fishing Report

In the extremely warm conditions trout have been deeper in the lake but still have been caught in good numbers.
In these conditions trout have been caught with sinking lines fished with lures, boobies and static weighted buzzers. These are best fished with floating lines and long leaders.
In cooler conditions trout have been caught closer to the surface.

Mr Elphick, of Lostwithiel, landed a good eight fish bag for 16 lb fishing boobies. 

Mr Loader, of Bude, landed a good six fish bag for 13 lb fishing a Black Fritz Hothead, the largest rainbow weighed 3 lb.

Mr Twine, of Liskeard, landed a good five fish bag for 12 lb 8 oz. The largest rainbow weighed 3 lb 9 oz. The bag was caught on buzzers and a Dawsons Olive.
