April 2024 – Fishing Report

On warm overcast days prolific hatches of insects have brought good numbers of trout feeding on the surface.   In these conditions floating lines fished with dries, nymphs and mini lures have been most productive.

In more unfavourable conditions sinking and intermediate lines fished with nymphs,  lures and boobies have been most successful.

The largest trout of the month weighed in at 4lb 14oz taken by Mr Gordon of North Hill on a Nymph.

Mr Loader, of Bude, landed  a good six fish bag for 15lb 4oz. The largest rainbow weighed 4lb and the bag was taken on a Black and Olive Hothead.

Miss Pratt, of Bodmin, landed six fish for 14lb 4oz on a Dawsons Olive.

Mr Carr, of Bodmin,  landed five rainbows for 15lb fishing lures and boobies

Mr Winchester,  of Callington,  landed five rainbows for 11lb 8oz fishing a Black and Silver Humongous.
