June / July 2019 Fishing Report

On the warm bright days fish have been deeper in the lake with sinking lines fished with weighted nymphs, mini lures and boobies being most effective.
In the evenings and when overcast there has been good surface activity with floating lines fished with dries, small nymphs and buzzers being productive.

Mrs. Davies, of Grampound, caught two fish for 5lb 14oz one of which weight 3lb 14oz. Both were caught on a Caddis Nymph.
Mr. Prout, of Pensilva, caught eight fish for 15lb fishing an orange tadpole and a Black Booby.
Dr. Rolly, of Ashburton, landed five rainbows for 9lb 4oz fishing a mini cat booby.  

April / May 2019 Fishing Report

On the warm overcast days trout have been surface feeding on a variety of hatching insects.
The fishery has had some amazing hatches of buzzers and hawthorn flies are also showing.

In bright conditions fish have been caught deeper in the lake.

Mr. J Twine, of Liskeard, landed a good five fish bag for 10lb 14oz. The largest rainbow of the bag tipped the scales at 3lb 11oz and the bag was taken on black buzzers.
Mr. S Newman, of London, landed four rainbows for 9lb 6oz fishing a bloodworm type pattern and a green and white lure.
Professor Harrop, of Looe, landed the largest rainbow so far this month at 4lb 2oz which was tempted by a dry daddy. Professor Harrop also landed two other rainbows on a Diawl Bach to give a three fish bag of 7lb 10oz.

March / April 2019 Fishing Report

On the warm overcast days an abundance of hatching insects have lured plenty of trout to surface feed
In these conditions dry flies, buzzers and small nymphs have been most productive

Mr. Parsons, of Newquay, has landed the best five fish bag so far this month weighing 11lb 8oz taken on a Dawsons Olive and a Blue Flash Damsel. The best rainbow of the bag weighed 3lb 3oz
Mr. Vallence, of Holsworthy, landed five rainbows for 10lb 5oz fishing a Hothead Damsel
Mr. Twine, of Liskeard, landed four fish for 8lb on buzzers. Mr. Jawoski, of Launceston, landed a good three fish bag for 7lb on a Damsel Nymph and then went on to release sixteen rainbow trout on Teal Lake.

February / March 2019 Fishing Report

On the settled days sport has been good with fish being caught on flies fished just below the surface.

John Twine, of Liskeard, landed a good six fish bag for 15lb 1oz fishing an Orange and white lure.
Reuben Girling, of Mount Hawke, landed a good five fish bag for 12lb 6oz fishing a Cat’s Whisker.
Roger Prout, of Pensilva, landed four rainbows for 9lb 7oz fishing a Cat’s Whisker and a Damsel Nymph.
