August 2024 – Fishing Report

Warm overcast days have seen good hatches of insects with plenty of trout surface feeding.  On these days floating lines fished with dry flies, buzzers and nymphs have been most productive.  In bright and hot conditions fish have been caught deeper in the lake.

The largest rainbow of the month weighed in at 5lb 9oz and was taken on a buzzer by Mr Husband,  of St Austell. In total Mr Husband landed six fish all on buzzers for a combined bag weight of 15lb 12oz.

Mr Westwood, of Camborne,  landed five rainbows for 10lb 8oz fishing with a Damsel Nymph,  buzzers and a White Muddler.

Mr Twine, of Liskeard, landed four rainbows for 9lb on a Dawsons Olive.
